Justin's graduating

Wow! How old do I feel now!! My son is graduating from La Habra High School in June! Be on the lookout for the invites as everyone is invited to share in the celebration.

I am so sorry!

Hi everyone! I must apologize for the delay in sending out any updates. This was a great tool to get information about the fire and reconstruction. I am happy to say that the reconstruction is completed and everything is starting to normalize (if it ever does).

My future blog postings will be more about what is going on day-by-day so be on the lookout for some interesting stuff...

It's been a while

Whoa! It's been a while since my last post and quite a bit has happened. Of course everyone knows that we are in our temporary digs right now but we wanted everyone to know that things have been progressing pretty nicely. There are two new cars sitting in the garage now (to replace the ones that were damaged in the fire) and all of the cloth items have been cleaned (for an outrageous price). Otherwise it is a waiting game for the insurance to finish up processing both the contents and the structure portion of the claim.

Settling In...

We are starting to settle in.  The contractors came by today and did the job walk so they can start putting together their estimates on the repairs.  Hopefully they will have everything put together by next week so that repairs and rebuilding can start.  Also, in case you haven't already heard, they totaled both cars so some dealerships in the area will be getting some visits this weekend.

We are settling down....

Well we finished the move to our "temporary" rental property. Things are starting to settle down a little bit more. The mattresses arrived right on time yesterday so we all were able to sleep in "real" beds last night.

Preparing for the next move.....

Well another moving day is upon us.  We are packing up our temporary home to move into another temporary home.  This one is three doors down from the house so we will be able to get back to a normal routine one again.....

More Pictures!

Well the cars got towed today so we thought we would share the pictures. Enjoy the pics....

Moving day is set!

Woo Hoo! We get to move into the temporary rental on Saturday. I think it is just going to be in the nick of time since we are in pretty close quarters (without a whole lot of privacy) where we are at now. Only bummer is that the mattresses will not be there until Sunday but c'est la vie.

Making headway

Well we went and picked out the new mattresses yesterday.  They will be delivered Sunday so at least we will be able to have comfortable beds again.

Things are moving forward....

Well things are moving forward. Saturday the cleaning crew came by and picked everything else from the house (with the exception of the mattresses) to clean/remove any ash and smoke smell from the items.

Also, we received some good news! The neighbor down the street had agreed to temporarily rent his house to us until we are able to move back into the house. Thankfully it is only 3 doors down from the house so it will be very convenient for all.

Coming Soon

Stayed tuned...in the next day we will have some pictures uploaded of the damage from the fire.  As an update, one of the cleaning companies came by yesterday and picked up every single piece of cloth (with the exception of upholstery).  Clothes, bags, sheets, towels, curtains, etc. are being cleaned to try and remove the smoke smell.  Once cleaned everything will be boxed up and put in their (the cleaners) secure storage until the house is ready to be moved back in.
